Do napisania dzisiejszego wpisu zainspirowała mnie sytuacja, która miała u mnie miejsce kilka dni temu. Takie sytuacje jak w tytule (gdy klientka nie czuje vibe’u) zdarzają się u mnie… rzadko. Ostatnio miałam ją rok temu (po uzgodnieniu szczegółów, wysłaniu materiałów, klientce nie odpowiadał sposób mojej pracy, mimo że wiedziała, jak wygląda proces), a wcześniej kilka lat temu… Otrzymałam wiadomość od potencjalnej klientki – nowi klienci niesamowicie mnie cieszą, lubię tworzyć z nimi projekty, zwłaszcza, gdy startują od zera i mogę przekazać im swoją wiedzę.
Odpisałam, jak zawsze, serdecznie, z uśmiechem w słowach.
Chciałam, żeby poczuła się swobodnie, bo tak zwykle buduję relacje z osobami, z którymi współpracuję. Dla mnie to naturalne – większość moich klientek mówi mi po prostu „Kasia” (często już w ten sposób do mnie piszą w pierwszej wiadomości), a rozmowy o stronie często zaczynają się również od kilku zdań o życiu.
Ale tym razem… coś nie kliknęło.
W odpowiedzi dostałam dość surową wiadomość przez którą początkowo poczułam się bardzo źle i nieswojo.
Okazało się, że klientka nie życzy sobie przechodzenia na „Ty”, a moja wzmianka o zmianach podatkowych (która była istotna dla zlecenia) została odebrana jako „zawracanie głowy moimi problemami” i „sugerowaniem, że klientka chce uniknąć płacenia podatków”.
Dla mnie to był po prostu transparentny kontekst – chciałam uczciwie wyjaśnić, dlaczego mogę zaproponować dwa możliwe terminy współpracy (z i bez VAT-u), bo wiem, że dla pozostałych klientów miało to znaczenie.
I wtedy zrozumiałam coś bardzo ważnego.
Nie chodzi o to, że któraś z nas miała rację
Chodzi o to, że mówiłyśmy różnymi językami.
Ja – po ludzku, swobodnie, szczerze, z chęcią budowania relacji. Ona – formalnie, z dystansem, oczekując typowo „biznesowej” komunikacji.
I to też jest OK. Nie każdy klient musi być „Twój”. Nie z każdym „zaiskrzy” w biznesie. Niektórzy wolą powagę i dystans – i mają do tego pełne prawo. Ale Ty też masz prawo tworzyć przestrzeń zawodową po swojemu: z autentycznością, z ludzkim tonem, z rozmową, mówieniem do siebie po imieniu, ale nadal z szacunkiem.
Jeśli ktoś nie czuje Twojej energii, stylu pracy czy sposobu komunikacji, to lepiej, żeby się nie zdecydował. Nie dlatego, że „coś z nim nie tak”, tylko dlatego, że brak wspólnego vibe’u potrafi później utrudnić wszystko – od projektowania po maile o poprawkach. Dzięki rezygnacji ze współpracy, która nie do końca nam “gra” robi się miejsce dla tych, którzy czują od razu, że „to jest to”. I właśnie dlatego warto mieć świadomość, jakich klientów chcemy przyciągać.
Przez lata nauczyłam się, że:
- nie chodzi o to, żeby spodobać się wszystkim,
- tylko o to, żeby przyciągnąć tych, z którymi praca to przyjemność, a nie stres.
Więc jeśli kiedyś ktoś Ci powie, że Twój styl jest „zbyt bezpośredni”, „zbyt swobodny”, „zbyt kreatywny” – to może to po prostu znaczyć, że jesteś w dobrym miejscu. Bo w tym właśnie momencie przyciągasz tych, którzy czują Twój vibe.
Morał płynący z tej historii?
Nie zniżaj tonu, nie chowaj emocji, nie graj kogoś innego, żeby się dopasować. Zawsze znajdą się tacy, którzy uznają Twoją autentyczność za profesjonalizm – i to z nimi zbudujesz najlepsze rzeczy.
